The Wave Swinger is a duplicate of a Victorian favourite, the Swinging Chairs ride – also known as the Swing Carousel, Flying Chairs and Chair-O-Planes. This fun fair ride is available in various sizes and suspends people in chairs from the rotating canopy above. Although the Wave Swinger is based on the classic Victorian ride it does have a few modern touches to make it even better than the original such as the rotating top and extra wide swing-out spin.
Unlike the classic Chair-O-Plains which gently swung its passengers round the Wave Swinger tilts, sending its passengers around in a Wave motion. The Wave Swinger propels the rider around at approximately 30 Kilometres per hour (approx 10 revolutions per minute) as the centre column lifts and the top canopy spins and tilts. This ride is just as much fun as you remember – if not a little more!

The Wave Swinger is without question the fun fair’s best ride – It is so much better than the original – the chair o planes, as it not only lifts up before moving round, it also tilts while in motion – EXCELLENT in every way, a marvellous piece of machinery, and I take my hat off to the creator. May this ride always survive, and withstand time, it is such a unique piece of showman’s craftsmanship. I intend myself becoming a showman and hence why I have requested info on the price of the adult version of this ride and the children’s version (say 5-12 years).
