The Big Wheel (or Ferris Wheel) has been seen since the first one was patented in 1867 and the most famous was the design of George Ferris in the 1890s for the Columbian Exposition in the USA. However the most eye-catching in Britain was at Earls Court on the site of the Exhibition Halls in 1894. The Travelling Big Wheel did not start to operate at fairs until the beginning of the 20th Century and George Ferris’ name will never be forgotten as these are popularly named Ferris Wheels. We have a variety of different sizes and styles of traditional big wheel available for hire, so be sure to get in touch if you would like to see the whole range.
